The WARDEN'S TRUST has developed the one time Menteith Ogilvie Museum, near Ness House, Sizewell, into an OUTINGS CENTRE for young and old disabled people, providing residential, recreational and instructional facilities. It is also available to organisations such as Scouts and Guides, Cubs and Brownies and the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
Location and accommodation
We are located in a private estate adjacent to the beach between Sizewell and Thorpeness on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The Building is a former private museum that once housed the Ogilvie bird collection. It now offers a large meeting hall with sports equipment, a kitchen, a conference/meeting room and four bedrooms each with three single beds as well as toilet and shower facilities. There is a separate one bedroom flat. There is also a camping ground (tents are available for hire) and other indoor, roll-mat accommodation. We can accommodate up to 60 children plus adults for residential visits (including camping)
Catering
Tea and coffee making facilities as well as a small kitchen with fridges and freezers are available (provide your own food and drinks). There is a gas barbeque and outdoor seating area. Arrangements may also be made with a mobile fish and chip van to visit the site.
